About

CRC provides residential services & supported independent living services for adults and youth with intellectual disabilities.

Who we are

We are a Canterbury-based support service that offers New Zealanders with intellectual disabilities the opportunity to live as independently as possible. Over the years we have expanded our service to support adults who have criminally offended to reintegrate back into our community.

CRC (formerly known as Christchurch Residential Care Limited), was established in 1997 to provide Residential Services (RSS) to the intellectually disabled, following the de-institutionalisation of mental institutions in New Zealand, and in recognition of the need that still remained.

We expanded our Residential Services to include our Supported Independent Living Program (SIL), and added our Community, Probations and Psychological Services (CPPS) to create a coordinated approach to care and integration within the community.

CRC takes a holistic approach to a person’s wellbeing. Our aim is to support, advocate and inspire, providing the people we care for with the tools, support and guidance to make better choices in order that they may build their independence and create a full and safe life in the community.

We are proud of our long history of initiating practical support for adults diagnosed with an intellectual disability, and supporting adults who have criminally offended to reintegrate back into our community.
